In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑day Saints, who takes care of the local congregation? The answer is … the local congregation. We believe communities work best when everyone is looking out for each other. That’s why we have something called “ministering.” It’s less like a person preaching from behind a pulpit and more like the way Jesus Christ ministered to the sick, the needy, and the lonely. Through the ministering program, every member of the congregation has someone they check in on to provide a helping hand, a listening ear, or a crying shoulder. That way, no one falls through the cracks, and each of us gets a chance to make a difference in someone’s life.
